Melchor and I went to Carrefour earlier, after our visit to my dentist.
Seeing tons of food there made me wish that I know how to cook! hahaha!

I'm craving for these 2 now:

Olives and Sun Dried Tomatoes! hahahaha!
I was tempted to buy them kanina, pero anong gawin ko sa kanila, when I don't know how to cook! hehehe :)
I just settled tonight with Pickles and Kimchi! hahahah!

destination: Honeymoon! part 1

Since I'm waiting to receive the swatches Clarice sent to me, I can't help but check and research for other stuff we need, particularly: Planning our honeymoon.

We plan to go to Manila maybe September 26 (this was the date of my still open-dated return ticket to Manila).

With that, we have Discovery Weekend schedule for October 3 to 5. Then, our Big day on the 18th of October, maybe stay 3 days in Manila, have to return to my mom's house for a night, then, off to Honeymoon.

So here are my choices: Europe or Latin America
hahahah! labo ba?

Europe: I love to visit London, Paris and Rome! I also love to visit Switzerland, Prague, Spain! Anu ba yan!
Latin America: I think Brazil and Argentina will be nice!

With our first honeymoon together, I guess Melchor and I just like to visit memorable places! Somewhere we never been to before, and somewhere we cannot always visit or go.

So, we have a pending Mission... to choose and inquire about Europe and Latin America packages! Will update our final choice and the road towards that choice! hahah! :)

it's David Cook!

After watching last night's AI Finale, and with all the praises that David Archuleta got, it's DAVID COOK to clinch the American Idol 7 Title!

Learning this in the afternoon made all giddy and excited! Can't wait till it's 5pm to watch the 6pm show in Star world! haha!

Congratulations to David Cook!
The most original, talented AI! :)

I LOVE THE HAIR! Will that cut look good with Melchor? hahahah!:)
Oh, and I love the finale song - Time of my life!
Melchor, would you like this song kaya? hihihih! :) Here's the lyrics:

Time of My Life Lyrics - American Idol Winner's Song 2008

I’ve been waiting for my dreams
To turn into something
I could believe in
And looking for that
Magic rainbow
On the horizon
I couldn’t see it
Until I let go
Gave into love and watched all the bitterness burn
Now I’m coming alive
Body and soul
And feelin’ my world start to turn

And I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time
To be more than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life

Holding onto things that vanished
Into the air
Left me in pieces
But now I’m rising from the ashes
Finding my wings
And all that I needed
Was there all along
Within my reach
As close as the beat of my heart

So I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time to be
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life

And I’m out on the edge of forever
Ready to run
I’m keeping my feet on the ground
My arms open wide
My face to the sun

I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time to be
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
This is the time
This is the time of my life.
This is the time of my life.

13th year

My dad passed away on this same date of the year 1995. (May 21, 1995)
I was 17 yrs old then. And I never thought that something like that will happened to us. But shit happens. haha!

My dad was one of the colorful personality that I had to encounter during my puberty days. Though I won't say that my dad was a perfect person, but I thank him for instilling in me the discipline and outlook that I have right now, which I think I will pass on to my future kids.

So here's to remembering those good ol' days, remembering the pillar in our life, the first guy I've loved. Though living without him is not that easy, we knew we survived in this life because of him.

Thank you Papa for everything! As I'll be walking the aisle by October, we'll commemorate you. We will continue to honor you, and promise to share the stories of You with your future grandchildren. (Yikes! hahaha!)

With my frequent teary-eyed while watching some AVPs, I think I really need these Waterproof mascara noh? hehe :)

Invitation draft

I've been in search for the Invitation design for a while.
With all the research that I've made, I love to have a letterpress type invitation!
But then, with limited choices in Manila, and to finally decide what amount we can only give for the invitation, we finally decided for a Php 100.00 cost for the invitation.

We only have The Write Impression in our mind for the invitation. We actually visited their office, and we impressed with their samples. We did decided on some of the choices, based from what we saw, and ended up a quotation from TWI, which we're not too happy about! Expensive kasi e! hahahaha! :)

With that in mind, I researched for other invitation design. I want something new, something unique, yet not too expensive, not too extravagant. We don't need that, right?

With tons of ideas being pooled by me and Melchor, we finalized a design together, We already gave this design to Clarice. Pardon my drawing, as I'm not too much of an artist.

But I know what I like, and I love classy design. I will have a classy design. :) That's for sure!

Note pala ah, DRAFT palang to. We've yet to receive a quotation and proposal from TWI pa. We already provided this draft to Clarice and Hope that she will get back to us soon.

Tired!

For this week and the last, I've been a bad blogger and got totally tired of preparing for the wedding. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels like this, but like right now, I'm just too tired... and I can't seem to think what I need to do next, or what I need to do now!

I do hope that I get the adrenaline back though. It's now less than 155 days till our big day (courtesy of Weddingannouncer page)

But I hope that within this week, we can finalize the following:
1) Cloth for the Moms - Niko
2) Cloth for the Principal Sponsors - to be included in their gift basket
3) Cloth for the entourage accents - Ding Marquez
4) Schedule for the Male Entourage measurements - c/o Clarice
5) Quotation from Invitation Supplier - the Write Impression
6) Downpayment for Melchor's suit - Delby Bragais
7) After confirming the colors for the moms, PS and Entourage, Melchor & I need to purchase the neck-tie for them - Arrow brand ties
8) To finally decide for the Favor/Souvenir - Fabfoto?
9) Decide on the entourage makeup artist - Gina Si, Angie Cruz or Brenda?
10) We hope to get the quotation for the Honeymoon trip we want - c/o Mama
11) To shortlist the songs we like for the On-site AVP, Photo AVP and Slide show - Threelogy and Nelwin Uy
12) To choose some flowers we like and to check reception designs - no idea yet
13) To check Cake design - need to update Alex Franco with this
14) To pay the deposit for the wedding rings - Nanette
15) To choose the gift for the Principal Sponsors - no idea yet
16) Finalize the gift basket for the Principal Sponsor - still being completed
17) To thank my Mom and Clarice for all their help - Always
18) To thank Melchor and always keep him awake. :) Hey Man, I need your help here!

So there you go, 18 stuff to do for this week. I wonder if we'll be able to do half of what needs to be done! hahahahaha! :)

American Idol

Tomorrow will be the final singing episode of American Idol.
Both David Cook and David Archuleta were good! But I'm rooting for Cook e!
I hope he wins.. it will be refreshing to have an alternative rock singer as the final winner for a change. hehe :)

makeup junkie

I am a Make-up Junkie!
Really! I love beautifying myself.. it's just that sometimes, I lack time in doing so. hahaha!
But I love great stuff! I love having nice colors, and in search for a good brand for me to use.

This OBSESSION started when I was still in Manila, when my skin finally cleared up with the zit-days. I also experienced the dreadful acne youthful days, wherein everyone's envying of a great skin in those days. Thank God for my mom and aunts, who constantly pushed us to go to derma, to have our skin checked, cleared up, etc. There was this one derma doctor, who asked me to list down all the doctors I had visited in the past! hahahaha!! After listing them out, he advised me to STOP DERMA SHOPPING! hahahaha! That's when I realized I had to been to a lot na pala!

So the Obsession of make-ups, started when I felt that my skin is ready for the next step - Prettifying with colors! I think I blogged my first bulk makeup purchase here! After that, things were easy na! hahaha! :)

The brands I purchased before: NARS, Shu Uemura, MAC, Smashbox, Sue Devitt, etc. - more on the brands I found in the shopping malls of Manila. (I love Rustan's!)

Then, I stumbled upon Makeup-Alley! Ayun, Patay na! hahahaha!

Then, I finally let go of some brands I don't feel too keen - MAC (too much colors! and I guess I got turned off when I learned that their Studio-fix are oil-based and need to be retouch every 3 hours ba?), Shu Uemura (overrated kasi!! and Manila prices are so taga!), Smashbox (well, super dami lang nila! haha!), Sue Devitt (ok naman, i just don't like their mechanism for concealer). What else ba...

But there's one brand that I truly love: NARS

NARS: the packaging are so sleek! I love NARS' colors! Eyeshadow, blushes, lipstick! wahhh!! hehehe! the brushes - ganda rin! hahahaha! it's classy thing e!

In fact, I brought to Shanghai all my NARS Stuff! hahahaha! Yun nga lang, I get up late, so I seldom really prepping myself.

Then, I upgraded to Bare Escentuals! I like this brand as well! But there's just too many Mineral makeup companies! hahahaha! - Everyday minerals, Monave, Pure Luxe, Aromaleigh, what else! hahaha! dami lang talga! I cannot keep up with this trend! As I can't get them here in Shanghai din e.

After all the bruhaha, I then discover Giorgio Armani.
What can I say about Armani Cosmetics? PURE BLISS!! hahaha!
I love Armani! I first got its Blushes!! Shucks, pretty pretty pretty!
The case is lovely as well!! PRETTTTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

I want to discover more about Armani Stuff! I read lot of great reviews!
But alas, we don't have Armani here in Shanghai! But thank God for Makeupalley!
Another great find as well is Taobao! (China version of ebay)
Right now, I'm trying to find the right shade of Foundation, which is a bit hard, this I don't have physical item to compare from.

I need to shorten this up, for you may all think how weird I am to be talking about makeup this long! hahaha!
I'm looking at the right foundation now: Armani, Chantecaille, RMK, Lunasol, what else.

To relate this to my wedding preps, well, what I'll be getting now, I'm thinking of using them in my upcoming wedding! hehe! Shempre, para may use naman sila, dba? haha! I guess I just want to look the best come my wedding day!
May discount kaya sa Makeup artist if I use my own makeup? hahahah!

I shall blog soon about things related to this entry. But for now, I just want to end this to certify that I AM A MAKEUP JUNKIE, and Melchor knows about it! hahaha :)

Melchor tried the Bow Tie last night.
He looked like a Precious moment guy. hahahhaa!

a day in the City

We went to the city unexpectedly early today. hehe! We went to Plaza 66 (恒隆广场) at Nanjing Road. This mall was one of the expensive malls around. Why you may ask? You can find Tiffany and Co., Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Cartier, Jimmy Choo, Zegna, Fendi, etc. etc. I think you get the picture na..? hehehe

We visited the Cartier store, and found the design of our future wedding ring! Though the design in Cartier we saw was full of diamonds because of its eternity design, but I can almost imagine our wedding ring na! hehehe! The price at Cartier was a whooping Rmb 45k+++!! Grabe! Tindi ah!

Had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), yes we also have this here! We sometimes do indulge in food e. haha! Since we had been staying in our dormitory for the past weekends and whole week, I think we just need to relax ourselves, enjoy good food and ambiance. hehehe! Unlike before, every week... mas okay na rin to dba..

I shall share with you all the pictures I've took of Melchor. Due to continuous shots (I love taking his pictures, especially when he's eating! hahaha!), I may upload his pictures at Flickr, you may check them out at the slideshow feature here in Blogspot. Or let me check out if I can upload a slideshow here from Slide.

ok ba? hehe :)

To Bow or To Tie!

To BOW or to TIE - that is the Question! hahahah! :)
Melchor has been troubling for quite sometime now, whether he will use a Bow Tie or to simply use a Tie for his suit. The good thing is that, he's researching as well, what look he like on his day.

We'll be almost booking the designer for his suit.
Prior to the designer that we'll be booking soon in Manila, we thought of having his suit made here in Shanghai.
We have this Fabric Market place kasi here... wherein this whole building are full of tailors, dressmakers, fabrics that you can choose to do your custom-made jacket, suit, dress, trench coat, etc. (basically, anytime under the sun, they can duplicate them). And based from his custom made suit before for his sister Mary Ann's wedding, it was okay naman. Though with the pants being frequently use for office, the material is starting to "himul-mol". So ayun, Melchor doesn't like that. It was not that "Manila expensive" pa naman, but then, being the wedding held in Manila, it may be better if the suit be made in Manila.

Bow Tie ba...?

Or Tie....? hmmm...

So fast forward to last February, after our taste test at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel (I have to blog the food and reception place soon!), we visited a designer upon recommendation of Clarice. It's Delby Bragais of North Road.
Well, to be honest, I first noticed her hairstyle! hehehe! :) It's cool kasi e! Really!

We personally visited Delby last February 2008. She's very warm and friendly. We like her! :)

Debly Bragais of North Road.

Well-made suit at Delby's Office.

Melchor with his tummy.

Then, I saw a ready-made suit at the side. Very well made ah! hehehe!
Then we proceed to talk to her, for a possibilities... for Melchor's suit! hehe :)
She asked to see the sketch of my gown, in order to match the suit of Melchor. Then she shared her thoughts and concern for Melchor's bulging stomach! hahahah! Thank you Delby! And also asked Melchor, if he has plans for exercising to trim down his tummy. hehehe.. May plans naman si Melchor, pero parang right now, (May 2 already), medyo lumiit palang konte. heheh :)

We exchanged emails for Delby... for her sketch of Melchor's suit, as well as negotiating for prices, what will be included in his suit. Melchor would like a vest e. Also what may be the color for the tie and vest. MG was thinking of Silver kasi e. We got a sketch from Delby, MG liked it naman! Pero he was also thinking of Wing-tip collar and vest.. lapel, whatever whatever... ek ek ek.

Sketch from Delby - we love it!
Just need to add the vest - and finalize the
Bow Tie or Tie.. hehe :)

Today (May 2, 2008), we went to the City, to find something MG can practice for his bow tie. We were actually looking for the bow tie he saw from internet tutorials. hehehe :) mukhang ndi namin mahanap talaga sya.. because hassle nga talaga mag bow-tie. hehe :)

I told Melchor that we can try practicing the Bow Tie for now... in case that it will be hard to perfect, we can opt for the Tie na... di ba. Also the reason why I like MG to wear a bow tie, kasi the wedding is supposed to be his most unforgettable happening na in his life, so kelan pa sya mag bow tie, e ndi naman sya artista para suotin yun for Oscars or any awards night... dba? hahahah! :)

Now, back to the Question upfront, to Bow or to Tie --- well.... we're still finding the answer! We hope to update this though. We will update this post.

In the mean time, here's the bow tie we found today.. hehe!

Bow tie we bought earlier from W.W. Chan & Sons
near Huaihai Road, Shanghai

Bow tie - up close and personal

Ewan ko lang pano ba ito maging Ribbon! hahaha! :)
Good Luck Melchor! :)
